Smart CSV Editor — User Manual¶
Smart CSV Editor is a fast, native editor for CSV and TSV files on iPhone and iPad. Open big spreadsheets, edit cells, sort, filter, search, and chart your data — all on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Whether someone just sent you a file to fix, or you need to work through a huge export on the go, Smart CSV Editor opens it in seconds and lets you edit it like a real spreadsheet.
What you can do¶

Open any CSV or TSV Even files with hundreds of thousands of rows open in seconds. Auto-detects the separator and encoding, and lets you fix it if the guess is wrong.

Edit like a spreadsheet Tap to select, tap again to edit. Insert and delete rows and columns, copy ranges, clear cells, and undo/redo anything.

Typed columns Turn a column into a checkbox, star rating, dropdown, currency, percentage, number, image, or link — with per-column formatting.

Sort, filter & search Excel-style sorting and value filters in two taps, plus a find bar that jumps between matches.

Turn data into charts Select cells and build a bar, line, area, scatter, or pie chart. Save it to Photos or share it.

Freeze, hide & resize Freeze header rows and columns, hide columns you don't need, resize columns, and change row height.
New here? Start with the Sample file¶
The first time you launch Smart CSV Editor, a Sample.csv file ("Coffee Shop Orders") is added to your Files so you have something real to play with. It already shows off typed columns — a dropdown category, currency totals, a percentage tip, a paid checkbox, and a star rating.

Your data stays on your device¶
Smart CSV Editor does everything locally. Files are read, edited, and saved on your iPhone or iPad — nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is uploaded. See FAQ & Troubleshooting for details on privacy and saving.
